One step behind…

Luxury shopping to end all wars

The opening of a high-end luxury mall, right by the infamous Jalame checkpoint at the West bank, will mark the beginning of a new and civilised era for the Israelis and Palestinians.

The five-store/five-million dollar Hirbawi Home Center will offer a wide selection of expensive items. No time for making bombs when you are resting in your new sofa in-front of a 42″ plasma screen, enjoying freshly brewed espresso.

On the other hand, thinking of the Israel/Palestine rebels trashing Jan Thomas’s salon last winter, one might wonder if they are ready to handle plasma screens without throwing rocks at them? The again, considering the current financial market, a luxury mall in the heart of modern day terror-zone might not be such a risky investment.

All thumbs up.

*Why did not Jonas Gahr Støre think of this?
